First manufactured in the late 1890s, the 14-Ton Stearns-Heisler was an early adaptation of the design and one of the smallest to be manufactured. Like other geared steam locomotives, the Heisler was well-received among industrial operators. The geared design allowed the locomotive to haul loads on steeper-than-average grades, and the short length of the 14-Ton Stearns variation allowed for extremely tight turning radiuses, making them particularly popular with logging companies. The Bachmann 14-Ton Two-Truck Heisler returns to our On30 Narrow Gauge line with newly added Soundtraxx® Tsunami2™ DCC, new road names, and never-before-offered paint schemes.
